Customers developing apps with a UI component need to ensure that their application and user journeys work well for end users. Real User Monitoring (RUM) optimizes frontend performance, allowing you to uncover performance problems before your customers do, and discover in-depth insights into end user behavior.

In addition no one likes dealing with errors. Error Tracking reduces noise by identifying errors that matter and equips developers to resolve them as fast as possible by leveraging the Datadog platform.

As Engineering Manager for the RUM Applied AI team covering Error Tracking and RUM, you'll join a fast growing product area. You will support the team in delivering robust models, raise the bar for AI development and help shape the product roadmap.

On the Error Tracking side, your team will lead the charge on multiple technical challenges such as grouping similar errors into a common entity, surfacing the right errors to customers and providing them with the best investigation and resolution workflows so that they can focus on delivering value rather than spend time fixing issues.

On the RUM side, you will design and lead the first initiatives toward integrating AI to improve datadog's frontend monitoring. The range of potential applications is large and has a high impact toward data driven optimization of our client's frontend.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and guide the RUM Applied AI team, directly managing 3 engineers and an intern

  • Work with product teams across Datadog to ensure that Error Tracking and RUM products can deliver the best product experience leveraging AI

  • Create a strong team culture aligned with our engineering standards and our customer focus

  • Participate in hands-on work: code reviews, design reviews and some coding

Who You Are:

  • Previous experience (1+ years) leading AI engineering or Data Science teams, as a people manager

  • You are able to address product requirements with research and translate them into production ready solutions.

  • Excellent leader with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and lead high-performing teams

  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are very product-oriented - you like solving problems and providing value to end users

  • You have a track record of delivering high-quality software products leveraging AI on schedule and collaborating closely with product partners.

  • You are a hands-on leader and you don't shy away from technical challenges

*Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply. *

Benefits and Growth:

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)

  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing

  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking

  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)

  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions

  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+

  • Competitive global benefits

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
