Datadog is seeking a Staff Product Manager to help lead and scale our Open Telemetry efforts across Datadog products.

Open Telemetry is foundational to modern observability and Datadog already provides a strong set of Open Telemetry capabilities to power standards-based observability experiences for customers. In this highly visible role, you will evolve Open Telemetry at Datadog, strengthening consistency, deepening integration, and delivering best-in-class experiences for customers who rely on open standards.

You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Open Telemetry is a seamless and powerful path for sending, managing, and analyzing telemetry in Datadog. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, operating at the intersection of open source technology and business.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and drive Datadog’s company-wide Open Telemetry vision and roadmap, ensuring consistent and high-quality Open Telemetry support across products.

  • Drive customer discovery across multiple products and initiatives, synthesizing insights from customer conversations, supporting data, and the Open Telemetry community.

  • Partner with product and engineering leaders across product portfolio to strengthen native Open Telemetry support across all signals.

  • Influence Open Telemetry investment direction and product priorities by connecting customer needs and observability trends with business opportunities.

  • Define and track internal and external Open Telemetry adoption metrics, communicating progress and impact to leadership.

  • Represent Datadog externally with customers and in industry forums, contributing to thought leadership around observability standards.

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, with significant ownership in infrastructure, observability, telemetry systems, or developer platforms.

  • Strong technical understanding of distributed systems, agents/collectors, libraries, telemetry pipelines, and the Open Telemetry ecosystem.

  • A systems thinker who can connect ingestion architecture, platform capabilities, and end-user experience.

  • Experience leading large, cross-functional initiatives across multiple product areas.

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence senior engineering, design, and go-to-market stakeholders.

  • Customer-focused and data-driven in your decision-making.

*Datadog values people from all walks of life. We know not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That’s okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your experience, we encourage you to apply. *

Benefits & Growth:
