Job Description:
The UI Software Engineer will work both collaboratively and independently to deliver cutting edge cyber security solutions. You will be tasked with creating and maintaining dynamic user interfaces, enhancing user experience, improving technical feasibility and improving on specifics around speed and scalability.
Please note this is hybrid position and will require a minimum of 2 days a week in the Cambridge or London office.
What will I be doing:
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers, UX designers, and product managers, to ensure seamless integration of UI components with core systems. This role requires a strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, responsive design principles, and accessibility standards. You will also be expected to contribute to code reviews, maintain high-quality documentation, and proactively identify opportunities to optimize performance and scalability across the platform. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement reusable UI components using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
- Ensure applications meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and deliver an inclusive user experience,
- Optimize front-end performance for speed, scalability, and responsiveness across devices,
- Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and ensure data consistency,
- Participate in design discussions and provide technical input to improve usability and functionality,
- Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to best practices for UI development.
What experience do I need:
We welcome applications from engineers who have a solution-focused mindset combined with an analytical approach and problem-solving skills. During the interview process, you’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to program using React and will show an understanding of writing code in a production environment. Your application will additionally benefit from:
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript,
- Strong understanding of CSS,
- Experience and knowledge of Redux and Tan Stack Query,
- Demonstrable skill in translating designs accurately from Figma,
- An awareness of good UX practices,
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of web application security,
- Proficiency with Git,
- A strong foundational knowledge of programming methodologies and data structures, particularly when dealing with big datasets.
- A portfolio and/or public GitHub repository showcasing your previous work.
