About the Role

The Senior Staff Engineer, Electrical Engineering is responsible for electronics development for molecular diagnostics instrument that has high impact to the organization. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on designing and testing the electronic systems at the heart of our Class II and Class III diagnostic devices. You will tackle our most complex electrical engineering challenges, from low-noise analog sensor interfaces to high-speed digital processing systems. As a key technical leader, you will mentor other engineers, drive best practices, and ensure our hardware designs are robust, reliable, and compliant with stringent diagnostic/ medical device regulations.

This position is part of the Electrical Engineering team and will be in Bangalore, IDC, India.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform hands-on integration of electro-mechanical, electro-optic, and multi-domain integrated systems to optimize signal-to-noise ratio, fault tolerance, and system-level packaging requirements
• Execute analog and digital systems design within constrained form factors, including board-level schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware debug
• Diagnose and resolve electronics issues across systems incorporating motion control, signal conditioning and processing, and thermal control architectures
• Lead and implement redesign activities based on root-cause findings, including verification, validation, and Change Order creation and execution in a regulated product development environment
• Develop, update, and maintain system-level electronics configurations and design documentation to support ongoing hardware lifecycle management

Essential Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of related experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years, or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of related experience
• Proven product development, commercialization, and test experience within FDA-regulated or comparable risk-control environments
• Board-level circuit design experience for microprocessor-based or FPGA-based embedded systems used in motion control and/or data acquisition
• Experience developing high-fidelity data acquisition systems including low-noise signal conditioning circuitry, power management circuitry, advanced PCB layout techniques, and optimized PCB stack-ups
• Experience planning, coordinating, and conducting electrical safety and EMC/EMI testing, and completing CE marking and electrical compliance certifications including IEC 61326-2-6, IEC 61000-3-x, 60601-1-2, IEC 61010-1, and FCC Part 15 Subpart B
• Ability to lift 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Familiarity with scripting tools, such as Python or Matlab
