This on-site role is part of Aldevron’s Technology department in Bangalore, India. You’ll report to the Vice President of IT and will provide strategic technology leadership by shaping and executing the long‑term engineering vision that enables scalable, secure, and AI‑powered digital capabilities across the enterprise. This role builds and leads the India Engineering Center as a strategic global hub, integrating software, data, and AI disciplines to accelerate scientific, operational, and manufacturing outcomes. The Director ensures global alignment of engineering strategy with enterprise architecture, compliance frameworks, and product priorities while developing a high‑performance engineering organization. This leader drives platform modernization, digital automation, and AI‑enabled workflows to achieve measurable business impact across global teams.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Build, lead, and scale Aldevron’s India Engineering Center as a strategic global engineering and innovation hub, accountable for enterprise platform modernization, AI enablement, automation, and delivery of secure, scalable digital capabilities aligned to business strategy.
• Define and implement AI‑enabled and automation‑driven engineering operating models across software development, testing, operations, and support, improving engineering velocity, quality, and reliability through standardized, enterprise‑scale practices.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery accountability for enterprise platforms and digital products, ensuring alignment with product strategy, enterprise architecture, security, and regulatory expectations through close partnership with U.S. and global business, IT, and architecture leaders
• Establish, govern, and continuously evolve enterprise engineering standards including cloud‑native architectures, Dev Sec Ops, CI/CD, MLOps, and automation frameworks to enable scalability, resilience, and operational excellence
• Align global engineering execution with enterprise architecture and platform roadmaps, ensuring solutions meet validation, data integrity, audit readiness, and security requirements within regulated and high‑compliance environments.
• Develop and lead a high‑performance global engineering organization, including talent strategy, leadership development, mentoring, and succession planning to build future‑ready technical and leadership capabilities across geographies.
• Implement enterprise governance models, engineering metrics, and operating rhythms that drive transparency, predictable delivery, cross‑time‑zone collaboration, and a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• 10+ years experience in software and platform engineering with 7+years of team leadership, including leading and scaling global or offshore engineering organizations, with proven success driving enterprise‑level technology transformation.
• Deep architecture and engineering expertise across distributed systems, API ecosystems, microservices, cloud‑native platforms, and enterprise technology environments, with the ability to set architectural direction and governance.
• Broad proficiency in cloud platforms and engineering operations (Azure/AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Dev Sec Ops), with the capability to guide technical strategy and engineering standards across teams (hands‑on optional but strategic depth required).
• Extensive experience embedding AI, automation, and data-driven decisioning into enterprise engineering and IT ecosystems, including intelligent automation, ML Ops, generative AI–enabled development, and responsible use governance.
• Leadership experience in regulated, high‑compliance, or high‑reliability industries, with strong understanding of validation, data lineage, audit readiness, and technology governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated enterprise influence across matrixed, global environments, including leading multi‑team agile delivery, vendor ecosystems, and complex cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Advanced AI, Cloud, or DevOps leadership certifications, such as AI/ML engineering, cloud architecture (Azure/AWS/GCP), or DevOps leadership credentials that demonstrate strategic capability in scaling enterprise platforms.
• Enterprise‑level agile or program leadership credentials, such as SAFe Agilist, Certified Product Owner/Scrum Master, PMP/PRINCE2, or similar certifications that reinforce ability to lead complex, multi‑team global delivery environments.
• Security, data governance, or regulatory compliance certifications, including cloud security (e.g., CCSP), data management (e.g., DAMA CDMP), or GxP/CSV credentials that support oversight of regulated, high‑integrity engineering systems.
