As Software Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementation of Cepheid next generation software products. This position is part of the R&D Department and will be located in Bangalore, IDC, India. This position reports to the Engineering Manager, R&D and will be an onsite role.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design, implement and maintain molecular diagnostics application software using Java, Angular and associated development frameworks
• Develop automated unit, component and system‑level test suites using industry‑standard test automation tools
• Execute end‑to‑end software quality activities including test coverage expansion, defect identification and verification workflows
• Integrate software components with firmware, hardware and diagnostic instrumentation systems in collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams
• Support continuous build, integration and release processes for molecular diagnostics software within regulated development environments

Essential Requirements

• Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 1+ years of full stack development experience
• Minimum of 1+ years of hands‑on development using Java and Angular for front‑end and back‑end applications
• Experience developing software for AWS cloud environments
• Experience in low‑level software design engineering and Object‑Oriented Design
• Proficiency in implementing Object‑Oriented Design principles and design patterns within Java and Angular applications

Nice to Have

• AWS certified developer
• Background in leveraging AI to improve operational performance
• Experience working with distributed teams in a global setting
