The Senior Test Engineer contributes to the delivery of products by carrying out testing activities as part of an agile team. This role involves creating test estimates, test approaches, and executing identified testing. The Senior Test Engineer may also be responsible for the overall agile team’s testing strategy and supporting junior team members.

This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is part of the Customer Sustaining Team of Engineering Department located in Bangalore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Create and execute robust, repeatable, and maintainable test plans, implementing testing strategies aligned with departmental goals.
• Identify cross-team interdependencies and coordinate with other teams to incorporate them. Adjust plans as technology and business requirements change.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Support teams to understand customer problems, provide updates, and enhance satisfaction through effective communication.
• Pair and swarm with team members and cross-functional teams to investigate, reproduce, and resolve Customer Escalations, Support Incidents, and Customer-found defects.
• Support recruitment activities and technical onboarding of new team members. Continuously develop skills, learn new technologies, and contribute to team improvement.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automated testing.
• Expertise in analyzing complex systems, defining testing strategies, designing effective test plans, and ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
• Writing, reviewing, and executing manual and automated tests, including functional, regression, and performance testing using tools like JUnit, Robot Framework, Cypress, Playwright, JMeter, Python, Postman, Rest Client, and others.
• Familiarity with integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Gradle, and Maven.
• Experience with Agile practices such as Kanban or Scrumban to manage team priorities and deliver high-quality solutions on time. Strong problem-solving and investigation skills in complex technical environments.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Working in the Life Sciences industry and regulated environments, participating in Customer and Internal Audits, and ensuring compliance with QMS procedures.
• Troubleshooting, performing root cause and thread dump analysis, memory management, and performance tuning, including JVM optimization. Experience of writing and executing queries and troubleshoot database issues with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
