The Customs & Distribution Manager (m/w/d) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for ensuring compliant and efficient import/export processes, leading all customs-related activities, and managing distribution center shipments with measurable impact on operational performance.
This position is part of the Production Operations / Logistics organization located in Krefeld and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Operations Team and report to the Senior Manager Production Operations, who is responsible for overall manufacturing and logistics performance, including regulatory compliance in customs operations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Be responsible for all tasks related to distribution center shipments, including outbound shipments from our manufacturing center to distributors

Collaborate with customs authorities as the competent expert for import and export, including creation of all required customs documents

Manage import and export processes for Beckman Coulter GmbH and its German subsidiaries

Lead customs audits and ensure full customs compliance together with the Senior Manager Production Operations

Support the consolidation point (3PL) and internal departments on all customs‑related activities
-
Drive and improve Logistics & Distribution KPIs (e.g., on‑time‑delivery, service returns)
-
Facilitate and participate in DBS Problem Solving Process (PSP) and Kaizen events to optimize customs and logistics workflows

Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to increase operational efficiency and reduce process waste

Lead a team of associates
The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or similar education within the logistics industry

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain

Excellent experience working with EU customs authorities regarding the UZK (Union Customs Code)

Proven experience in creating customs documentation (UZK)

Advanced experience using ATLAS
-
Experience managing third‑party logistics (3PL) operations

Proven leadership and team management experience
-
Exposure to Lean or DBS tools such as 5S, Kaizen, or VSM in a logistics or operations setting

Experience supporting efficiency improvements or process optimization activities

Fluent in German and English
