Position Overview

The Account Manager Life Science Research (f/m/d) is responsible for owning, managing, and growing our microscopy business in the broader Dresden, Leipzig, Jena, Magdeburg area. This role involves maintaining existing accounts, finding new customers to reach growth targets, and developing strategies to win new business through advanced geographic key account planning, account mapping, and networking. Additionally, the Account Manager (d/f/m) will deploy, coordinate, and leverage our Leica team of Advanced Workflow Specialists, Product Sales Specialists, Marketing colleagues, and Channel Partners to ensure customers are engaging with the right people at the right times. They will be the decision-maker on how we serve our customers in the defined geographic account area, manage opportunities and the sales funnel proactively to produce accurate forecasts for business planning, and be customer-facing and proactive, with an expectation to be on-site with customers three days a week. Regular weekly reporting on the sales funnel and other key metrics is also required. This position reports to the responsible sales manager and is part of the Central Europe Sales Team. The position is fully remote to cover the specified sales region.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Pharmacy, or related field preferred)
  • Strong and proven sales experience in a relevant industry with previous exposure to microscopy, spatial biology and/or proteomics strongly preferred
  • Hands-on, operational sales capabilities with a strategic and structured mindset, which allows you to define mid-term strategy for a team and take your active part in executing it
  • Strong communication skills and sound business acumen, driven to exceed targets and reach goals

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

  • Ability to travel – 40% travel, overnight, within territory or locations
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
