The Direct Sourcing Lead for Cytiva is responsible for taking sourcing activities in China & APAC to support to regional business growing, and needs from other regions.
This position is part of the global sourcing team located in Shanghai. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategy according to business needs and sourcing KPIs.
- Develop and maintain supplier base and manage supplier relationships.
- Handle RFQ process, including cost breakdown analysis / price comparison and negotiation.
- Work with cross function team for supplier selection / supplier assessment & qualification / supplier on board process / project execution…
- Manage supplier capacity / risk mitigation to ensure supply chain safety to meet business grown.
- Work with cross function team to improve supplier performance incl. quality, OTD & cost; and drive continuous improvement at supplier side.
- Working with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
- Other tasks assigned by line manager.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering related majors. Major in pharmaceutical/chemical engineering or related experience is preferred. Oral and writing proficiency in English & Mandarin.
- Good communication skills & teamwork spirit is a must, especially the working experience with team from countries. Experience of managing project with cross function is preferred.
- 5 years work experience , incl. strategic sourcing, commodity management, or product development etc.
- Results-oriented, able to work under pressure, adapt to rapid change, adapt to DBS culture. Be able to adapt to the changing environment and challenges while actively embracing change.
- Energetic, able to adapt to flexible work and accept about 30% of travel.
- Strong sense of integrity / compliance, and no inappropriate record.
- Must be proficient in using general office software, familiar with SAP / Orcale is a plus.

- Managing projects in life science industry, with team members from different regions and with different cultural backgrounds.
