The Technical Operations Manager – New Product Introduction will lead and elevate a high‑performing team responsible for bringing innovative cancer diagnostic products from development into full operational readiness. This role is pivotal in ensuring that new medical devices are introduced with excellence, compliance, and scalability across our global operations.

This position reports to the Director, Technical Operations and is part of the Technical Operations team located in Newcastle Upon Tyne and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build upon your skills and experience in the successful launch of innovative CDx, IVDR and RUO products, including resource allocation, risk management and operational excellence.
  • Enhance your skills in leading cross functional project and/or program execution through collaboration with various functional groups, including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations/Manufacturing and Commercial teams with a particular focus on product launch execution.
  • Establish, drive & nurture a high-performing team culture.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • A relevant scientific qualification (BSc/MSc) in a related subject
  • Long standing experience of working within medical device, class II or class III (or equivalent) and associated regulatory frameworks, and experience with Design Control is required
  • Relevant experience with Design Control is required
  • Proven ability to create & manage a vision, think strategically, plan and organise, innovate, analyse complex data and situations, and exercise sound judgement
  • Experienced in risk management, namely the ability to identify and mitigate risk throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills and management skills for delivering products into manufacturing ideally in medical device industry or similar

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in one or more of the following: IHC Assay Product Development, Computational Assay Development, Precision Medicine or CDx Pharma Partnerships
  • Experience in leading/influencing cross-functional teams across biomarker research, regulatory, clinical operations, and medical affairs
  • Experienced in Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing

  • Travel expectations within this role are minimal (<10%)
