The Senior Software Architect is responsible for defining the architecture of advanced software solutions for our Clinical Informatics product line. Your role is key in driving the design, development and deployment of high-performance software architectures, with a focus on scalability, security, interoperability and maintainability. You will be part of a team of senior software architects who define and own the software architectures across all product lines, champion the platform mindset and define the software technology roadmap. You will partner with Product Management, Project Management and R&D functions to ensure our software solutions meet the needs of a rapidly evolving diagnostics landscape.

This position reports to the Chief Software Architect, is part of the Digital Solutions Software Engineering Team located in Bengaluru, India and will be an on-site role.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Drive the definition, evolution, and implementation of software architectures aligned with strategic product goals and innovation plans
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements and clinical needs into robust software solutions
• Conduct technical risk management activities, drive technical debt reduction, and guide the software engineering teams to ensure high-quality code and system stability
• Contribute to the product-overarching software architecture and software platform, ensuring modularity, reusability, scalability, performance, and security
• Support harmonization of software architecture best practices across teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide technology strategies and regulatory frameworks

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of progressive experience in software product development and technical leadership roles
• Proven track record in defining the architecture for complex software products, preferably in regulated environments such as medical devices, diagnostics, or life sciences
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns, microservices, APIs, data architecture, C#/.NET, GenAI tools and software engineering best practices
• Solid experience in developing cloud, edge, hybrid software solutions that are reliable, secure, and scalable
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills with a business, global and cross-functional mindset

Preferred Qualifications

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Practical experience in developing complex, modular and testable software in C++ with strong focus on OO principles
• Direct experience in in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) instrument development, digital health platforms, or regulated healthcare software development
• Experience with Agile frameworks adapted for regulated environments (e.g., Agile with Design Controls), or hybrid Agile/Waterfall implementations for safety-critical software
