The Pilot Line Technician, Test is responsible for supporting new product introduction and pilot line operations. This role involves working closely with supply chain, service, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from development to production. The technician will be trained in the art and science of calibration and testing, pilot builds, and troubleshooting of complex systems.
This position reports to Manager, Pilot Lab Operations and is part of the Global Instrument Operations and Global Supply Chain Organization. This position is located in Bangalore, India and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Perform hardware, instrument, and system testing by executing engineering experiments, creating test procedures and fixtures, and conducting hands‑on troubleshooting and performance evaluations of prototypes
- Support prototype development by organizing and assisting in prototype builds, executing pre‑clinical evaluations, and contributing to knowledge transfer activities across engineering functions
- Generate technical documentation by recording and reporting test results, authoring test procedures, contributing to protocols and verification reports, training technicians on test processes, and maintaining engineering lab equipment and readiness
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Associate of Science degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5 years supporting mechanical engineering in product development
- Proficiency in prototyping and manufacturing electro‑mechanical instruments, including calibration procedure execution and documentation, troubleshooting, subassembly integration, testing, servicing, and rework
- Experience applying mechanical and electrical theory to build, troubleshoot, and repair benchtop instruments within engineering and manufacturing environments, including meeting physical requirements such as lifting up to 25 lbs and supporting periodic travel (10–25%)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Ability to multi-task on several different projects and tasks concurrently
- Ability to perform independently or as part of a team under restrictive timelines
- Experience working in a product development environment and/or within manufacturing operations under cGMP, ISO and FDA regulations
