About the Role
The Senior Director, Facilities (Americas) is responsible for leading facility operations, security, and maintenance programs across all owned and leased properties in the region with "dotted-line" relationships with facilities personnel at international sites. This role drives strategic planning, ensures regulatory compliance, and oversees multimillion-dollar construction initiatives to support business growth. The Senior Director also cultivates a high-performing team culture focused on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Global Operations and is part of the Global Operations Senior Leadership Team located in Sunnyvale, CA, and will be based on-site.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support corporate-led capital deployment initiatives exceeding $100M, assist with global lease coordination for offices, factories, and distribution centers, and contribute to cost-effective infrastructure planning
- Develop and execute a five-year global facilities strategy aligned with business growth
- Lead all regional facility operations, construction, and security programs across owned and leased properties, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational uptime
- Partner and support regional business continuity planning, including crisis management, recovery strategies, and risk mitigation across sites
- Build and retain a high-performing, inclusive team; foster a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement using the Danaher Business System
- Advise senior leadership on facilities strategy, risk, and long-term planning; influence cross-functional decisions and organizational development
- Champion lean practices, kaizen initiatives, and process optimization to drive measurable improvements in facilities and security performance
Qualifications
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree preferred with 15+ years of experience in facilities within regulated industries AND 5+ years of people leadership experience
- Advanced certifications such as FMP or CFM preferred
- Proven success applying LEAN methodologies (DBS, TPS, Kaizen, FMEA, etc.) to drive measurable improvements in facilities and security operations
- Strong decision-making, leadership presence, and ability to present clear, actionable insights to senior leadership
- Committed to stakeholder satisfaction, continuous improvement, and monitoring performance through maturity models and leading indicators
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000 per year. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
