Shape the Future of Strategic Asset Performance in NZ:

Cushman & Wakefield New Zealand is seeking a highly capable Strategic Asset Manager to lead and elevate our asset management strategy across a significant property portfolio, with a strong focus on Private Public Partnership (PPP) contracts.

This is not a traditional facilities role. This is a strategic, data-driven position responsible for lifecycle modelling, asset governance, capital forecasting, and performance optimization across complex environments.

You will report to the Head of Asset Management, Reporting and Analytics and play a key role in advancing asset strategy across the business.

Job Description:

This role will see you:

  • Lead long-term asset management strategy across major portfolios

  • Drive lifecycle modelling and capital expenditure forecasting

  • Govern and enhance asset data quality and integrity

  • Oversee preventative maintenance frameworks

  • Support PPP asset management activities across island contracts

  • Deliver executive-level reporting and insights

  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement in asset practices

You will work closely with Contract Managers, Facilities teams, Asset specialists and key clients to ensure asset outcomes align with both client expectations and commercial objectives.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a technically strong and commercially astute asset professional who can operate autonomously and influence stakeholders at all levels.

You will have:

  • Engineering or building services qualification (mandatory)

  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, fire, plant & equipment)

  • Proven experience in asset lifecycle modelling and capital planning

  • Experience working with CMMS and complex asset systems

  • Strong data management and reporting capability (Power BI highly regarded)

  • Advanced Excel skills (mandatory)

  • Experience working on PPP contracts (highly advantageous)

  • Familiarity with ISO 55001 asset management principles (desirable)

Bonus if you have basic programming or automation capability (VBA, SQL, etc.).

Why This Role Matters

Asset data governance and lifecycle modelling directly influence PPP performance and long-term financial outcomes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring forecasting accuracy, contract compliance, and strategic capital planning across key portfolios.

This is an opportunity to operate at a strategic level within a growing and highly respected IFM business.

What Success Looks Like

  • Improved lifecycle accuracy and capital forecasting

  • Strong asset data governance standards

  • Clear executive-level reporting

  • Strategic alignment across PPP contracts

  • Innovation in asset systems and frameworks

Why Join Cushman & Wakefield?

  • Work on complex, high-impact PPP contracts

  • Be part of a collaborative national Asset Management function

  • Influence strategy at a business level

  • Career growth within a global real estate leader

  • Strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement

If you’re a strategic thinker with strong technical foundations and a passion for data-driven asset optimization, we’d love to hear from you.
