Overview of Business Unit
The Plumbing team supports the University Accommodation Business Unit by delivering reactive, planned and small-project maintenance services across student accommodation and selected university buildings. Work is carried out within a small team environment with a varied and busy portfolio.
Job Purpose
Complete plumbing maintenance and project tasks within university accommodation and associated buildings as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Complete plumbing tasks as required
- Identify opportunities for follow-up or additional work and escalate to client and/or manager
- Complete relevant documentation for invoicing and compliance
- Adhere to HSSEQ policies, procedures and legislative requirements
- Any other duties as required by your manager
Key Measures of Performance
- All works completed within required timeframes and to required standard
- Logon and logoff KPI achievement
- Completed works accurately recorded and sent to admin team within stipulated timeframes
- Future work identified and escalated to client and/or manager
- Internal and external customer satisfaction

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Trade qualified, ideally with 5+ years’ experience in commercial, residential, or accommodation maintenance environments.
Certified Plumber and licensed Gasfitter.
QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS
- NZ Registered or Certifying Plumber
- Licensed Gasfitter
- Site Safe, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platforms beneficial
- Experience working across commercial, residential or accommodation maintenance sites
- Computer skills – Word, Excel, webmail and use of smartphones/tablets
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
- Good English spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Customer focused
