Job Description Summary

As an intern Valuation & Advisory at Cushman & Wakefield the Netherlands, you will support the hotel team in carrying out valuations, feasibility studies, and consultancy work. You will also assist with managing databases compiling valuation reports, gaining essential experience in the hotel real estate market.It is important to note that there are no direct managerial or supervisory responsibilities attached to this role, as it is primarily aimed at learning and developing specialised knowledge and skills. As an intern, you will mainly work under the supervision of experienced (registered) valuers and consultants who will guide you in performing your tasks.

Job Description:

This internship will start in August/September 2026 and last for a minimum of 6 months.

Main tasks

For the internship position of Hotel Real Estate Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield, the five key tasks are as follows:

  • Analytical Work: Carrying out analyses that directly contribute to a hotel valuation, such as analysing hotel performance (e.g. reviewing profit and loss statements, and STR figures), and examining information from public registers such as the land registry and zoning plans.
  • Report Writing: Assisting in the preparation of various reports, in particular valuation reports, market studies.
  • Database Management: Maintaining and updating specific databases relevant to the retention of key information on the hotel real estate market. This includes entering new data and ensuring the accuracy of stored information.
  • Inspections: Conducting inspections of hotels subject to valuation together with the registered valuer.
  • Preparing Presentations: Supporting the preparation of presentation materials for client meetings or internal discussions for the valuer/consultant.

Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Willingness to Learn: Hospitality management students may not yet possess the specialised knowledge required for the hotel real estate sector. Therefore, strong motivation to learn and develop within this specific sector of the market is essential. You should be eager to expand your knowledge base actively, even if this means regular studying.

  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the hospitality industry (market dynamics, major brands, hotel operating structures, hotel KPIs and P&L statements) is a plus.

  • Analytical Ability and Excel Skills: While in-depth real estate knowledge is not initially required, an affinity with financial figures is crucial. You will be frequently involved in analysing profit and loss statements and working within our financial models. In addition, good proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is advantageous / required.

  • Communication Skills: Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written) is strongly preferred. Good proficiency in English (spoken and written). Furthermore, good written communication skills are required.

  • Time Management: The ability to manage and organise your schedule and time effectively.

  • Eye for Detail: Detail-oriented, with a meticulous and organised approach to managing tasks.
