Position: Senior Manager, HRM (Payroll)

Role Overview:

The Coupang-RFC Payroll team plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of employee payroll payments. As a Senior Payroll Manager, you will lead strategic initiatives, optimize payroll processes, drive system implementation, and manage complex payroll-related projects. As a key partner across functional teams, you will identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements, ensuring scalability and compliance across multiple regions. Furthermore, you will advocate for best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the payroll department.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee for payroll operations, ensuring payroll is accurate, timely, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and optimize payroll systems (such as Workday and other HR platforms) to align them with company policies and improve operational efficiency.

  • Drive payroll process improvement by identifying inefficiencies, implementing automation, and introducing scalable best practices.

  • Lead payroll-related projects, including system implementation and upgrades, ensuring projects are completed on time and achieve objectives.

  • Ensure tax and legal compliance by accurately managing taxes, social security, severance pay, and other statutory requirements.

  • Monitor and promptly resolve payroll errors, analyze root causes, and provide structured reports and recommendations to management.

  • Leverage data-driven insights to track payroll performance, identify trends, and propose strategic improvement initiatives.

  • Lead and develop the payroll team, providing training and mentorship to enhance their professional skills and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, IT) to integrate the payroll process to support the achievement of business objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of total experience

  • Experience in payroll operations management at multinational corporations or large enterprises

  • Ability to solve problems through creative thinking and partnerships with other teams

  • Ability to attain challenging targets through goal-setting and personal drive

  • Proficient in Workday or other global HR information systems/payroll systems

Preferred Qualification

  • Exceptional project management skills

  • Familiar with automation tools and process improvement methodologies

  • Able to communicate effectively in English and other languages ​​to facilitate global collaboration

  • Successful experience in leading and developing high-performing teams
