We analyze business requirements and transform them into the latest digital processes and systems. This enables Continental’s Tire business to continuously improve production performance and quality results in order to meet customer requirements.
Our team of the Solution Development Center (SDC) develops, implements and supports automation solutions for our tire plants worldwide. By joining the Support & Consulting team, you will be responsible for the implementation and support of our Manufacturing Execution System in our production in all Continental Tire factories around the world. You will be part of a motivated IT team supporting digitalization and Industry 4.0 projects and activities on global scale.
As IT Consultant manufacturing Systems these will be your main responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of our digitalization solutions during roll-out activities in the plants world-wide;
- Installation, configuration and commissioning of the MES (Manufacturing Execution System);
- Execute integration tests and work together with other departments on business acceptance tests;
- Provide training to local key users, local IT and engineering employees;
- Responsible for 2nd level IT remote support for productive MES applications, consult and execute measures to improve the stability and reliability of the overall solution;
- Consult the business departments in optimization and optimal use of the standard solution provided

- Academic degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar;
- Experience with databases and SQL (MS SQL Server is a plus);
- Programming skills (C#) and knowledge in OPC / PLC technology, is preferred;
- Implementation experience with IT systems / manufacturing systems, is preferred;
- Proficient English language skills (written and spoken);
- Collaborative mind-set and good communication skills;
- Intercultural sensitivity;
- Willingness to international travelling (up to 30%).
