The Mechanical Area Maintenance Engineer supports reliable plant operations by ensuring effective maintenance practices, driving technical improvements, and supporting the Maintenance Area Leader in daily management of the department. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT - Support the Maintenance Area Leader with daily management of the Area Maintenance team. - Ensure consistent mechanical maintenance best practices across all shifts and support hands-on troubleshooting as needed. - Diagnose mechanical issues and lead timely repair, restart, and reliability improvements for production equipment. - Drive maintenance strategy execution, including TPM initiatives, SAP PM process improvements, and condition‑monitoring tools. - Ensure full compliance with ESH requirements; promote safety awareness and lead proactive preventive actions. - Identify and implement mechanical improvements and cost‑saving opportunities in collaboration with Production, Quality, and Purchasing. - Maintain accurate technical documentation (AutoCAD plans, mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic drawings). - Maintain professional technical knowledge through training and industry resources. - Demonstrate strong initiative, organization, and teamwork; perform other duties as assigned. - Other duties as assigned NOTE: May not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed. This includes safety wear such as steel toes, hearing protection and eye protection where required. - This role is within a climate-controlled facility ## Qualifications WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE - BS in Mechanical Engineering or related 4 year degree - 3+ years as an engineer in a Manufacturing environment - Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. - Continental is able to offer visa support and relocation for internal candidates.
