As an Application Engineer for Conveying Solutions in APAC, you will play a critical technical role in defining, analyzing, and optimizing conveyor belt solutions for complex industrial applications. This position is designed for a talented, analytically driven engineer who enjoys solving real-world engineering problems and taking ownership of technical decisions that directly impact system performance, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
You will execute Application Engineering activities that support both short- and long-term segment strategies, enabling profitable growth and technical differentiation in the APAC market. Acting as a key technical interface between customers, sales teams, and global engineering functions, you will translate operating conditions and customer requirements into robust, data-driven conveyor solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing application-level engineering analysis for conveyor belt systems, including assessment of operating conditions, duty requirements, loading scenarios, and environmental factors.
- Selecting and recommending conveyor belt solutions based on engineering principles, standards, risk evaluation, and lifecycle cost considerations.
- Applying analytical judgement to balance performance, safety margins, durability, and cost under real-world constraints.
- Supporting sales channels with technically sound, value-based recommendations that differentiate Conti Tech solutions.
- Executing the segment strategy within your assigned markets and applications, contributing to over-proportional and profitable growth.
- Collaborating with regional and global teams across Application Engineering, Product Management, R&D, and Sales.
- Ensuring compliance with Continental engineering guidelines, quality standards, and internal policies.
- Contributing to continuous improvement by sharing application insights, lessons learned, and best practices across the APAC organization.

We are seeking a technically strong, analytical engineer with a genuine interest in conveyor systems and industrial applications.
Required qualifications:
- University degree in Engineering or Science, preferably Mechanical Engineering; Chemical or Materials Engineering will also be considered.
- 1–2 years of professional experience in application engineering, conveyor systems, bulk material handling, technical sales, project engineering, technical consulting, or R&D.
- Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to apply analytical reasoning to complex, real-world applications.
- Basic project management experience, ideally in a regional or international business environment.
Preferred qualifications and attributes:
- Exposure to conveyor belt systems, mining, ports, power generation, cement, or heavy industrial applications.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to structure complex problems, challenge assumptions, and justify recommendations using data and engineering principles.
- Experience interpreting engineering standards, performing technical evaluations, or supporting failure and performance analysis.
- Experience working in intercultural and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders.
