Job Description

This internship is well-suited for a current law student with a strong interest in intellectual property, advertising, corporate, compliance, transactional, and regulatory law and policy. The position offers the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of subject matters within the Constellation Brands Legal Department.

The Legal Intern will be responsible for performing professional legal tasks including researching legal topics, analyzing legal issues, reviewing and drafting contracts, drafting and sending internal and external communications, completing project-based work, and interacting with various business units across Constellation Brands. As an intern, you will gain experience, insight, and exposure to global issues in a fast-paced, forward-thinking, in-house legal department. This position will be supervised by the Senior Director, Assistant General Counsel.

Responsibilities

• Think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of the Legal Department, other Constellation Brands business units, and senior legal leadership
• Support legal research projects on various topics, including beverage alcohol and intellectual property matters
• Assist with the development of policies, training materials, checklists, and guidelines
• Participate in special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Current law student pursuing a J.D. degree
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Legal research experience with an emphasis on organization and multitasking
• Intellectual curiosity with demonstrated problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High energy with a strong work ethic
• Some travel may be required

The salary range for this role is:

$35.00 - $45.00 Per Hour

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. At Constellation Brands, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
