Hourly Rate: $18.21 an hour
BASIC FUNCTIONS: This position makes up shipping cases, hand packs product into cases and stacks full cases on pallets. All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing occupational safety (OSHA), building and electrical codes, and food safety and food quality (FDA) in addition to environmental safety (EPA) in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Reports to the production team lead.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assembles / folds pre-cut cardboard into shipping cases or machine magazine; hand pack finished containers of product into shipping cases; lifts/stacks filled cases onto shipping pallets; rework product that is outside of standard; general housekeeping of work area to keep it neat; effectively communicates with co-workers, supervising staff and outside resources verbally and in writing; is discreet in use of Company confidential information; reports errors/incidents/problems to appropriate persons; and performs other duties as assigned by lead; follows and enforces standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF as well as the regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA and EPA. Must complete training in these standards and comply with all requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to do light to moderate lifting (overhead) up to 40 lbs. Must have use of both hands and legs and able to use fingers (manual dexterity for small detailed work). Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, squat, sit and stand for various periods of time.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must wear appropriate uniform and follow GMP’s. Must be willing to use cleaning chemicals for cleaning purposes and complete training for the use of cleaning chemicals.
