Job Summary:
The day to day expectation for this role will be multi-faceted. You will be creating and supporting microservices, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps work to maintain our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will help mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and design/architect solutions that scale and adhere to proper design patterns. Your expertise will be needed to not only create new APIs, but to also call out and re-factor existing code when/where improvements can be made. The team operates in two week sprints and we have daily stand-ups to go over critical issues and address any concerns/questions.
Job Description:
The IDDL team is responsible for capturing, curating and enriching metadata for Comcast Enterprise and it's partners. Our team is growing and right in the heart of some key initiatives to drive growth, sustainability and overall health of Comcast data. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, team-oriented individual with a strong technical background coupled with a desire to innovate and immerse themselves in new technologies. Strong interpersonal skills, passion and a positive attitude is a must.
Required Technical Expertise/Skills
7+ years of professional software engineering experience
7+ years working with Spring Boot, Restful APIs, SQL, AWS Cloud, CI/CD pipelines (preferably Concourse), Docker
7+ years working with object-oriented languages
7+ years architecting and implementing solid technical solutions to meet business need
3+ years shell scripting
5+ years working with AWS IAM, EC2, Lambda, messaging, EKS
- Core Responsibilities
- Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
- Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Develops software update process for existing applications. Assists in the roll-out of software releases.
- Trains junior Software Development Engineers on internally developed software applications.
- Oversees the researching, writing and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
- Keeps current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
- Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers.
- Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures team delivers software on time, to specification and within budget.
- Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
- Displays expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts and skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
- Displays expertise in process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Compensation:
Primary Location Pay Range: $135,683.35 - $203,525.03
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
