Job Summary
Global Operations supports the Observability and Monitoring of multiple NBCU/Sky services including Peacock and Now/Wow. Our mission is to empower our global teams through the innovation and automation of operational systems and services. With teams split across multiple countries and locations we are a truly Global organization providing core services and capabilities to our internal customers.
Shift - 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM/Rotational
Job Description:
Job Summary:
- You will work within a team of engineers to support and develop the platform for Global Operations, providing services across the various streaming platforms. This involves maintaining and updating the code that builds and supports these platforms, as well as assisting with the developer teams with the development of new features and capabilities.
- Additionally, you will be expected to lead, support and assist more junior engineers and help them to develop their capabilities within the team.
- The platform runs on both AWS and GCP, with multiple teams working in similar environments, but with variations between them. Providing standard methodologies across the platform to improve simplicity and reliability is a part of the role.
- You should be competent and capable of working with the following technologies : Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Jenkins, GitHub
- Load Balancing, Routing, Security Groups, VPC, Subnetting
- Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS,
- Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
- Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios
- ELK, Splunk, Datadog
- AWS, Azure, GCP administration
- Python

Skills & Requirements
- Simple coding with terraform and ansible as our main tools.
- An understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Following agile methodologies
- Infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Assist with the development of custom software for automation, observability, or other requirements
- Ensure operational documentation, wikis, and readmes are maintained
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
- Provide support for operations and delivery teams to remediate production issues as appropriate
- Build cloud-agnostic solutions that can be quickly deployed against a wide variety of cloud computing providers
