Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Documents all development activity. Assists with training non-technical personnel. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Description of Work:
The general project needs are as follows:

Become familiar with the Video Platforms system, and its application/service architecture.

Contribute to cross-functional team by actively participating in planning, refining, and sizing work.
-
Represent SQE and be the squad champion for QA
-
Fully participate and contribute to team Agile ceremonies, working in 2-week sprint cycles.
-
Identify the appropriate type and level of testing, and provide detailed test criteria.
-
Create or contribute to detailed test plans as needed for larger projects using software and tools provided.
-
Surface, investigate, and report defects with an appropriate level of detail, evidence, and steps to reproduce using software and tools provided.
-
Test and confirm bug fixes prior to Production release.
-
Create solid and comprehensive test artifacts for each development iteration.
-
Identify and tag tests that are and are not candidates for automation.
-
Work to improve automated test coverage in both breadth of testing and depth of testing, as the situation dictates using software and tools.

Create and maintain the backend and frontend test automation using software and tools.

Execute test automation, as well as execute performance & load tests (APIs, Backend, GUI/Frontend)

Run manual functional and regression testing, as needed.

Support and help maintain the test automation framework using software and tools.

Provide feedback on opportunities to improve, become more efficient, and collaborate better.

Work with other SQEs to share experiences and suggest ways to improve our quality.

About the Role:

Collaborate with Product to understand user stories, Engineering to understand architecture and design, and Operations to understand business workflows.

Train and mentor Software Quality Engineers on testing concepts, tools, and processes.
-
Lead and perform hands-on testing, including manual and automated approaches.
-
Develop a deep understanding of product requirements and business objectives.
-
Design and execute test strategies that meet functionality, performance, and user acceptance criteria.
-
Determine appropriate automation approaches across multiple projects.
-
Communicate effectively with project management teams to understand features, requirements, and releases.
-
Follow and improve existing best practices for quality engineering.
-
Perform peer reviews of test scripts and automation code.
-
Ensure defects are clearly documented and communicated.
-
Proactively identify and raise potential quality or delivery risks.
-
Stay current with emerging technologies, testing tools, and AI-driven QA practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
-
5+ years of experience in software testing and test automation.
-
Experience leading QA efforts across onshore and offshore teams.
-
Proficiency in Java programming.
-
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium Web Driver, JUnit, TestNG, Playwright, and/or Cypress.
-
Experience testing REST APIs and writing advanced SQL queries for database validation.
-
Familiarity with issue and test management tools (e.g., Jira, QMetry).
-
Experience with version control systems and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
-
Ability to interpret and work with technical documentation (architecture diagrams, workflows, API specs).
-
Experience testing and debugging in staging and production environments.
-
Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
Preferred:
-
Experience testing in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
-
Background in media or entertainment technology.
-
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Datadog, and CloudWatch.

Interest or experience in applying AI tools and techniques to enhance QA processes.
