  • Collins aerospace is looking to hire Process Technician - Zinc; Reporting to the Plating & Processing Supervisor, the Process Technician
  • Zinc; will be involved in the Zinc plating of aircraft components.

Work Shift: Afternoon Shift, Monday

  • Thursday ( 4:00 pm - 2:00 am)

What You Will Do

  • Zinc Nickel plating of aircraft components, including preparation of components, to customer specifications and development of work techniques

  • Part masking will be part of the regular duties of this position

  • Part fixturing, loading and unloading

  • Tank/chemistry maintenance and associated tooling

  • Act as a cross functional team member and support other plating applications as requested

  • Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)

  • Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts

  • Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as required

  • Maybe required to cross train on other plating processes.

  • Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 3 months.

  • Candidate will be expected to wear appropriate PPE

Qualifications You Must Have

  • High school diploma, with 1 – 3 years previous process chemistry background;

  • Experience in measuring equipment such as calipers and Elco meters

  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.

  • Experience in using various hand tools.

  • The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • Prior chrome plating experience would be considered an asset

  • Verbal and written communication skills (English)

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a cross-functional employee.

  • Strong understanding of WHMIS

The salary range for this role is 59,548 CAD - 78,643 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
