Job Description:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Data Science & Analytics Engineer to join our Data Science, Analytics & Methods team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru, India. This role will drive the development, deployment, and support of machine learning, statistical models, and LLM-based solutions for repair and maintenance, providing forecasting, predictive, and prescriptive capabilities embedded within our software and workflows. These solutions will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine repairs and reduce the cost of maintaining our parts, components, and engines.

Key Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with engineering organization leads to identify opportunities for leveraging data science and analytics to enhance operations.

· Leverage aftermarket and flight operational data to generate insights and enable better decision-making. Build machine learning and statistical models, or apply LLMs, to drive improvements in business processes and KPIs.

· Work with experienced engineers to define, prototype, test, deploy and monitor machine learning and statistical models to provide predictions and forecasts

· Understand, explain, and recommend appropriate Machine Learning/Data Analytics methods and software solutions

· Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

· Take ownership of assigned project milestones, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.

· Provide guidance to less-experienced professionals and act as a resource for technical expertise where needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (with 8+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 7+ year experience) in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics

• 5+ years of experience building machine learning/statistical models

• 3+ years of experience in SQL/Databricks

• Proficiency in machine learning tools and programming languages such as Python.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Demonstrates excellent judgment and professional maturity.

• Quick learner with a creative problem-solving mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in aerospace domain.

• Experience developing Power BI dashboards, applying LLMs, and supporting predictive maintenance initiatives

• Experience with Databricks and familiarity with AWS cloud computing platforms.

• Proven ability to bridge the gap between technical expertise and business needs.
