What You Will Do

As Test Engineer, the person will be responsible for the analyzing project requirements, preparing test plan, documenting test cases, documenting test cases execution, and documenting defects identified during test cases execution.

Test Engineer will closely work with development team to resolve defects identified during test cases execution and document defects closure.

Test Engineer will work to identify opportunities and implement test cases automation using selenium automated testing tools.

Test Engineer will adhere to established QA testing processes and participate in QA testing process improvements, QA checklists preparation, QA templates creation, Standard Works Creation, lesson learned and prior knowledge utilization to ensure that product has high quality standards and ready for production deployment.

Test Engineer will support our global HR organization, working as QA Test Engineer for HR/Payroll solutions and will report to EAS Quality Assurance Services Lead.

Test Engineer will work to deliver testing artifacts (deliverables) on time as per project schedules while working on high visibility projects. Test Engineer will also be responsible for working on various projects in parallel with prioritizing tasks as per respective project schedules.

Test Engineer has extensive knowledge of HR/Payroll domain, cloud-based HR/Payroll systems or Custom HR/Payroll web applications, Integrations, backend testing with SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle database, Schemas and schema objects, Toad for Oracle, SQL Developer, ADP Enterprise, Workday etc. Test Engineer also has good knowledge on HR/Payroll business processes like Hire, Job Change, Transfer, Leave of Absence, Time-Off, Terminations, Promotions, One Time Payment, Incentive and awards transaction processing, Benefits processing etc. There will be an opportunity to collaborate with the various teams and functions like HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, Learning Management, and with various parts of the Digital Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Engineer demonstrates knowledge in HR/Payroll domain, HR/Payroll business processes, functional, Integration and backend Testing.
  • Test Engineer demonstrates knowledge in testing cloud-based HR/Payroll systems or custom HR/Payroll web applications.
  • Test Engineer demonstrates proficiency in writing SQL, analyzing PL/SQL code and extensive knowledge in Oracle database and its schema objects, DBMS jobs, Linux Cron Jobs, Toad, SQL Developer, file processing, file compare, MS Excel, and backend testing using SQL queries.
  • Test Engineer has ability to analyze project requirements, prepare test plan, document test cases, test cases execution and defects in Jira.
  • Ability to work on testing tasks for multiple workstreams (e.g. HR, Payroll, Benefits) as well as multiple projects.
  • Partner with QA team in identifying opportunities and improvements, Participate in QA testing processes improvements.
  • Ability to create QA test cases template, checklists, standard works in Jira for frequent testing tasks.
  • Ability to communicate for QA testing and other tasks with teams within organization.
  • Participating in daily projects stand up meetings and report testing progress, work stoppers, defects and keep Jira up to date.
  • Comply Data privacy and Data security during testing processes.
  • Ability to work primarily remotely with occasional travel.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically, a minimum of 6+ years of Quality Assurance experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related work experience. Advanced degree and 4+ years related work experience.
  • Experience in HR/Payroll domain, HR/Payroll business processes like Hire, Job Change, Transfer, Leave of Absence, Time-Off, Terminations, Promotions, One Time Payment, Incentive and awards transaction processing etc.
  • Experience in testing cloud-based HR/Payroll systems or custom HR/Payroll web applications.
  • Experience in the software development life cycle including Requirements, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of HR/Payroll solutions using ADP, Workday, and custom applications using .NET platform, VB.NET etc.
  • Experienced in creating and documenting Test strategy, Test plan, Test cases, Test data, Test execution, defects, test status report, and proficient in Testing Tools (e.g., Jira, Quality Center, Selenium).
  • Experience in integration and backend testing using SQL queries, analyzing PL/SQL code, Oracle database and its schema objects, DBMS jobs, Linux Cron Jobs, Toad, SQL Developer, File processing, File compare, File Transfer, MS Excel, Text Editor like Notepad++ etc.
  • Typically, a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline.
