Collins Aerospace has the capabilities, comprehensive portfolio, and expertise to solve customers’ toughest challenges and to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global market.
To support our growing business, we have an exciting opportunity within our Power and Control division at the HS Marston facility in the West Midlands. We are seeking a Business Degree Apprentice to support customer-facing activities within a highly technical engineering and aerospace environment.
What you will do:
This 4-year Degree Apprenticeship combines real-world business experience with academic study allowing you to apply your learning directly to a complex, safety-critical industry. You will work closely with customers, engineers, and internal stakeholders to support contracts, projects, and service delivery.
Supported by our experienced team you will:
-
Act as a professional point of contact for customers, supporting enquiries and maintaining strong relationships
-
Assist with customer accounts, contracts, and order management within an engineering environment
-
Support sales and commercial teams with proposals, quotations, and customer documentation
-
Coordinate with engineering and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met
-
Help monitor project progress, delivery schedules, and customer communications
-
Maintain accurate records in line with aerospace quality and regulatory standards
-
Analyse customer feedback and business data to support continuous improvement
-
Help identify inefficiencies in PO processes, communication flows, or reporting, proposing improvements
What you will learn:
During this comprehensive Level 6 Apprenticeship you will gain hands-on experience and a broad understanding of our core business functions such as customer support, operations, programme management and supply chain and develop an understanding of aerospace standards and engineering processes.
You will work towards a BSc in Leadership and Business Management delivered in partnership with Aston University which will form the basis of your future career and which we hope may lead to securing a permanent role with us!
Learning will be delivered on campus at Aston University as well as online webinars.
Qualifications we prefer:
This role is ideally suited you if you are motivated, diligent and enthusiastic about building a career in business within an engineering or aerospace environment.
We anticipate that you will be at the start of your career and, working closely with our training partner, we are committed to supporting and developing you throughout your apprenticeship. This will require a genuine desire to learn and a strong commitment to achieving both personal and business objectives.
You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, clear and effective written and verbal communication, excellent attention to detail, and solid organisational abilities. A professional, detail-focused approach, combined with the enthusiasm to learn technical concepts and industry standards, is essential.
You will have obtained 3 A Levels at grade C or above and a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including Mathematics and English.
What we offer:
This role provides a pathway into a career within the Power & Controls business, combining practical experience with an accredited degree apprenticeship as well as a benefits package which includes a competitive salary as well as 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. There is an Employee Assistance Program, option to buy and sell holidays, employee discounts, a fantastic pension scheme, discounted gym membership and much, much more.
