What You Will Do:

The Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) organization is seeking a Senior Materials Planner for driving our materials and logistics transformation. The Senior Materials Planner will be responsible for executing materials transformation initiatives and driving a strategic materials management architecture. It will also include the releasing of material, managing handling methods, kitting and material movement following the fundamentals of line back logistics.

Success will be measured by developing strategies and executing goals with the business units/departments and objectives to meet capacity requirements, inventory controls, cost reduction objectives, on time delivery, and control tower measures. The individual will have the opportunity to work directly with CSMC administration, materials, operations and 3PL organizations as well as the internal manufacturing groups to redefine processes, execute on business requirements and deliver to customer expectations.

  • Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on change management

  • Insure that CSMC is transforming to meet the customer demands of a difficult manufacturing environment

  • Execute strategies and oversee activities through multiple organizations

  • Establish and execute standards and expectations for work effort and performance. Give constant feedback on performance to those standards

  • Implement lean manufacturing measures to insure value streams and shop operations are balanced at all times and/or to be able to identify areas of opportunity quickly

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and other organizations to ensure customer happiness.

  • Communicate to peers and management, the requirements that support processes to ensure smooth production flow.

  • Establish system architecture designs that take into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree combined and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, quality, or related environment or OR a Master's degree combined with 3 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, quality, or related environment

  • In absence of a degree, 9 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, quality, or related environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Aerospace industry experience

  • Experience utilizing SAP operating system

  • Advanced knowledge of materials management strategies, Lean manufacturing system design and shop floor management

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Lean manufacturing, CORE, QCPC)

  • CPIM certification or willingness to earn

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
