At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

The Sea-Launched Cruise Missile-Nuclear (SLCM-N) program is a critical Navy initiative. This missile will be deployed on select Virginia-class submarines when fielded, requiring comprehensive ashore operations planning to meet the Navy’s logistical and operational needs.

As the Ashore Operations (AO) Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), you will oversee and manage all aspects of the SLCM-N missile development program related to the U.S. Navy’s onshore operational requirements. This includes developing approaches for storage and maintenance of the missile at Strategic Weapons Facilities (SWFs) and ensuring that the missile and launch canister design meet SWF requirements. In this critical leadership role, you will work closely with the Navy customer to represent and fulfill all onshore operational objectives. The SLCM-N effort will integrate a new weapon into a complex ashore operation at the SWFs, which will create friction between operators, test authorities, safety organizations, and facility leadership. Managing and leading Raytheon SLCM-N efforts within this complex stakeholder environment is a key aspect of this role. Candidates with prior U.S. Navy experience, especially with SWF operations, are highly encouraged to apply.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the AO IPT in developing and executing plans to address all U.S. Navy onshore operational requirements for the SLCM-N missile program.
  • Oversee the development of storage and maintenance approaches to support missile readiness at Strategic Weapons Facilities (SWFs).
  • Ensure that the missile and missile launch canister designs meet SWF requirements, including weapon magazine size constraints and minimizing required maintenance times.
  • Collaborate with the program Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) to ensure alignment of technical and operational objectives to customer needs.
  • Serve as the primary interface with U.S. Navy stakeholders for all ashore operations-related objectives, building and maintaining strong customer relationships at the SWF.
  • Represent the AO IPT during program reviews, technical discussions, and strategic planning sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and lead a multi-disciplinary team to address ashore operational challenges and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for ashore operations activities and utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodologies to track and manage scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and career growth guidance to team members, fostering a culture of accountability and leadership development across the IPT.
  • Ensure Estimate at Complete (EAC) and Latest Revised Estimate (LRE) development and sign-off for the AO IPT scope.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior, relevant engineering or operational experience.
  • Experience leading teams in developing operational concepts and solutions for complex systems.
  • Experience developing internal and external customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and mission success.
  • Experience managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets.
  • Ability to achieve Raytheon PM Certification Level 4 within one year of hire.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Prior U.S. Navy experience, particularly with Strategic Weapons Facilities (SWFs) or similar operational environments.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams to address logistical, storage, and maintenance challenges in military or defense systems.
  • Familiarity with Navy operational requirements, including weapon magazine constraints, maintenance schedules, and readiness objectives.
  • Familiarity with Naval weapons testing and evaluation, both hands-on flight test support and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence stakeholders, including the Department of Defense (DoD) and other government agencies.

What We Offer

  • Whether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement, and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs.
