What You Will Do

The Quality Engineer will work with designs and specifications, determine quality flow downs on a wide variety of precision and complex in-process and finished machined parts, highly complex components, cables, castings, forgings, circuit cards, fabricated sheet metal parts, and hardware that is produced in-house and/or supplied by vendors both pre and post award. The Quality Engineer will interface with our Defense Contractor Management Agency customer to perform product sell-offs.

  • Ensure that projects and process control documents are compliant with requirements, objectives and contracts.

  • Verification of materials and processes and verification of certifications from sub-tier vendors.

  • Completion of all applicable paperwork (working to AS9100 standards).

  • Performance of various other quality functions as required to ensure the timely delivery of product to the customer.

  • Assist with root cause analysis and recommend corrective action(s).

  • Perform escape management procedures.

  • Perform Audits of vendors at their locations to applicable technical data packages and industry standards

  • Develop strong working relationships with the touch labor, factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA

  • Qualifications you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field or other technical degree of study or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 years of quality engineering experience

  • Previous experience with interpreting technical blueprints and job shop mathematical calculations in a manufacturing environment

  • U.S. Citizenship required as the candidate must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Must be able to follow written instructions and to work with little to no supervision.
  • Thorough organizational skills and familiarity with requirements of an AS9100 based quality system.
  • Ensure that all required process operations have been performed on the product that is being inspected.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
