We are seeking a Hardware Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of Sensors Operations Quality organization. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.

What You Will Do:

  • Establish baseline factory metrics (e.g., scrap, rework, FPY), identify key drivers, forecast future demand, and highlight improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Defect Prevention teams to align on top priorities using baseline data and forecasts to drive containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Conduct process walks, operator observations, and lead manufacturing team discussions to reduce process variation and improve performance.
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC, using baseline metrics and projected demand.
  • Identify supplier escapes or issues and ensure proper containment and feedback to the Supplier Quality Management team.
  • Verify and validate implemented improvements to assess effectiveness.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and a minimum of two (2) years related engineering experience
  • Manufacturing process experience in one of the following processes (assembly, inspection, test)
  • Previous experience working in cross functional process improvement teams.
  • Experience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions
  • Experience with quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.
  • Experience with technical standards, interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control
  • Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
  • Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications
  • Proficient in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping
  • Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. Six-sigma, lean manufacturing)

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
