As part of the Operation team, Inventory Control Technician will execute materials management taskings including cycle counting, movement of inventory between sites and inventory control. Individual will have strong attention to detail to ensure inventory and cycle count accuracy is maintained.

This role will coordinate with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure smooth transition of material to the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and coordinate on site material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production/customer requirements.
  • Assist in production activity to meet business and financial objectives. Work with Managers to plan and manage product tasks to improve runtime.
  • Develop inventory control techniques including cycle counting to avoid shortages and minimize excess inventory and movement.
  • Ensuring materials received through inspection are properly put on inventory shelving.
  • Assist in processing customer orders and shipments according to the established schedule.
  • Review job orders and accordingly establish priorities and schedules.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
  • Evaluate and coordinate with production control to ensure that material is available according to manufacturing floor requirements.
  • Plan and monitor materials movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations.
  • Manage and maintain inventory locations to ensure material is amalgamated and set up for efficiencies.
  • Participate in team projects and other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with inventory control or planning/scheduling.
  • Strong computer skills in the Microsoft suite of programs with emphasis on Excel.
  • Knowledge of inventory management processes and philosophies, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Just in Time (JIT). Microsoft Dynamics experience would be considered an asset.
  • Continuous Improvement process experience.
  • Able to communicate and present precise information to internal/external customers and leadership.
  • Self-directed and action-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Experience with pallet movers and forklifts.
  • Physical demands include: lifting up to 50lbs, prolonged periods of walking/standing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.

The salary range for this role is 47,902 CAD - 95,804 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This position is required to work onsite at our facility in Waterloo, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
