At Raytheon Vision Systems, we manufacture advanced infrared detectors and semiconductor materials that power mission-critical sensing technologies for defense and aerospace applications. Our production environment is highly specialized, involving cleanroom operations, precision crystal growth, and rigorous metrology to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance.

As a Project Engineer, Productivity & Cost Account Management, you’ll play a pivotal role in productivity improvements and modernizing our manufacturing operations. You’ll work hands-on in a fast-paced, cleanroom-based production setting where attention to detail, safety, and collaboration are essential. Your work will support the fabrication and testing of infrared sensors by improving how data is collected, processed, and used—from automating project reporting and report generation to migrating legacy systems and connecting progress and accounting information to internal and external sponsors.

Success in this role requires not only strong technical skills in project management and cost account systems, but also the ability to work closely with engineers, technicians, and production staff in a controlled environment. You’ll be expected to understand the urgency of production schedules, communicate clearly across disciplines, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance yield, reliability, and throughput. Take charge and step in with engineering solutions if necessary.

What You Will Do

  • Manage project schedules, aligning key tasks and milestones.
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues and financial sponsors to define quantifiable milestones
  • Plan and track tasks and milestones within an Integrated Master Schedule
  • Manage and lead teams to ensure progress
  • Utilize cost account tools to track financial resources and commitments.
  • Develop tools to automate generation of reports.
  • Standardize and integrate project reporting
  • Develop capacity models to ensure accurate forecasting
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to understand production workflows and data needs.
  • Work in controlled areas, cleanrooms, laboratories etc.
  • Develop fundamental understanding of crystal growth and epitaxial processes

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Engineering, Program, Project, and/or cost management

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
