Join our Operations team as a Manufacturing Manager and play a critical role in driving operational excellence and executing our growth strategy. You will lead the assembly, testing, and integration processes for the Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR), as well as oversee repair and spares support for both legacy and new PSR systems. By implementing continuous improvement (CORE) methodologies and performance-driven operating systems (KPIs), you will ensure success across key areas: People, Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost.

In this leadership role, you will inspire, guide, and develop your team, championing our company values and fostering a high-performance culture. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, and drive improvements that align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the manufacturing team, modeling company values: Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation.
  • Implement and monitor company operating systems and KPIs, including People, Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, resource optimization, and process enhancements.
  • Manage large-scale projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and metrics.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies while identifying and mitigating manufacturing risks.
  • Prepare and present project updates to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Provide accurate basis of estimates for proposals and Earned Value Management for large manufacturing projects.
  • Oversee team performance, including recruitment, training, development, and performance management, while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Manage inventory, material control, shipping, and export requirements.
  • Ensure team compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, providing necessary training and supervision.
  • Plan and coordinate resources and activities across departments to meet operational and customer requirements.
  • Instill resilience and motivation in the team when faced with challenges, ensuring consistent progress toward goals.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Track record of solving technical problems and implementing effective solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new knowledge and experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement (CORE) principles and production systems.
  • Strong understanding of supervisory responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Professional values of respect, trust, and collaboration.

This position is required to work onsite at our facility in Waterloo, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.

The salary range for this role is 101,500 CAD - 151,500 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
