**Director, SSD Clinical Review College Board – **Risk Management
Location: This is a fully remote role. Candidates who live near CB offices have the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office).
Role Type: This is a full-time position.
About the Team
Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD)
The SSD team at College Board is a close knit, dedicated group of 28 professionals, including 20 clinical staff members across three clinical teams, with a passion for helping test-takers with disabilities from around the world receive appropriate accommodations on College Board tests. The team ensures that accommodations are provided for test-takers with disabilities, and is committed to providing exceptional decision making, education, and outreach to support test-takers, school personnel, and family members/guardians. We pride ourselves on being thorough and knowledgeable by staying current in the field. SSD partners closely with other College Board units - including Accessibility Compliance Office (ACO), Advanced Placement (AP), the SAT Suite of Assessments, and State and District Partnerships (SDP) - to deliver consistent, high-quality accommodations and uphold fairness across all programs.
About the Opportunity
You will be instrumental in College Board’s mission to clear a path for all students to own their future. College Board provides accommodations to disabled test-takers so they can demonstrate their knowledge and skills. Your role will ensure that College Board exams accurately reflect the test-taker’s aptitude/achievement rather than their disability.
As a Director of Clinical Review you will assist with planning, developing and managing, in teamwork with two other Clinical Review Directors activities related to documentation review for use in determining student eligibility for accommodations in College Board tests (e.g., SAT Suite of Assessments; AP; CLEP). You will also provide Technical Assistance to schools regarding disability documentation and appropriate accommodation for College Board tests and other duties as assigned. As a manager, you will manage and train in-house clinical staff, look for improvements and efficiencies to current processes, and track and manage other tasks which are shared between the three Clinical Directors. Additionally, you will be an important resource to College Board (i.e., various departments and regional staff) and other stakeholders (e.g., school officials) in understanding documentation requirements based on disability.
The Director of Clinical Review, collaborates with two other Directors, and leads a team of professional staff in reviewing and determining eligibility for testing accommodations and other related tasks. Reporting to the Executive Director, Accommodations and Accessibility, you will oversee a team of clinicians, ensure policy integrity and compliance, and champion innovation in clinical review processes.
In this Role You Will: Oversee Documentation Review, Accommodation Determinations, and Team Management (70%)

Manage and assign clinician caseloads, ensuring effective prioritization, timely decision-making, and high-quality reviews within published service timelines.

Ensure all clinical reviews and eligibility determinations meet the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and consistency, in alignment with SSD policy.

Lead and supervise clinicians responsible for accommodation decisions across College Board programs (SAT Suite, AP, CLEP), including oversight of Tier 2 responses and decision letters.

Direct daily operations of the SSD School-level Review process, ensuring consistent execution and policy adherence.
-
Serve as the escalation point and subject-matter authority for complex, sensitive, or precedent-setting eligibility determinations.

Collaborate with senior leaders and interdisciplinary experts (e.g., psychology, neuropsychology, medical, vision, audiology) to uphold best practices and evidence-based decision-making.

Review and refine clinical policies, processes, and tools to strengthen quality, compliance, and service delivery.

Lead verbal and written communications with schools, educators, parents/guardians, and test-takers, including resolution of escalated issues, and provide support to the Executive Director and division leadership as needed.

Share leadership responsibilities with the fellow SSD Directors along with other Division Leadership for coordination of policy and procedures established by the SSD Executive Director. Define and refine the clinical policy governing accommodation determinations, to drive efficiency, quality, compliance, and service excellence.

Provide support, as needed, for the Executive Director, and other team leadership.
Outreach, Strategy, and Technology-Enabled Implementation (30%)

Drive strategic enhancements to accommodations policy, review systems, and digital tools, leveraging technology and AI to improve accuracy, consistency, efficiency, and scalability.

Advise College Board testing programs and field teams on inclusive accommodations administration, ensuring consistent application of SSD policies.

Engage with professional organizations and external experts to ensure practices remain current, equitable, and legally defensible.

Lead development of technology-enabled training resources, digital publications, and web-based tools for internal staff and education professionals.

Manage and or participate in relevant and/or assigned SSD or College Board initiatives.
-
Oversee sensitive and specialized accommodation processes, including temporary impairments, external reviews, and cross-divisional “Cry for Help” response efforts.
-
Represent College Board externally through presentations, webinars, and professional outreach, and recruit and manage a national network of clinical consultants.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in psychoeducational assessment and clinical practice to ensure the application of evidence-based approaches.

About You

Degree requirements: Psy.D./Ph.D. degree in relevant psychological and educational field.

Five (5) or more years experience in psychological assessment or research, working primarily with an educational population, including 2 years of program and staff management.

Extensive knowledge of assessments and procedures related to the determination of various disabilities and appropriate accommodations. Knowledge of issues/trends affecting students with disabilities in the context of educational testing.

Superior ability to interpret and evaluate the integrity of psychological assessment and related documentation, as well as convey results of psychological assessment relevant to disability determinations.

Superior knowledge and understanding of disability laws such as IDEA, ADA and Section 504.

Superior analytical and writing skills.
-
Superior speaking and presentation skills as this job will require significant educational outreach.

Superior leadership skills including skill in managing groups that have sensitive tasks and facilitate the reasonable execution of those tasks. Also, have the skill and sensitivity to balance the needs and directions of College Board, as well as the school systems and their students.

The hiring range for this role is $80,000–$135,000.
