As the Tech Lead Manager for a team that spans multiple countries across Americas (except US), you will partner with Country Directors, Product Managers, Customer Support and be responsible for ensuring delivery of growth initiatives in strategic markets for Coinbase.

You will have a direct impact on making Coinbase the best cryptocurrency platform. In this role, you will help create the industry-leading standard for customer experience in the crypto space.

The Country Expansion team prides itself on being innovative and customer-centric. It is an A-team where you can fuel your passion for building world-class products that ignite cryptocurrency adoption worldwide.

What you'll be doing:

• For the first 6 months, you will act as the tech lead, focusing on technical projects and directly contributing to code. Following this period, you will transition to managing direct reports.
• Spend at least 25% of your time being a strong individual contributor, driving the engineering quality and velocity of the team by being an exemplary practitioner
• Build high-performance services using Golang and gRPC, creating seamless integrations that elevate Coinbase's customer experience
• Be a thoughtful technical voice within the team, aiding in diligent architectural decisions and fostering a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure successful delivery and operation of multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define strategic product roadmaps and make direct impacts on Coinbase's international expansion
• Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise
• Mentor and coach team members on system design techniques and coding standards
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers

What we look for in you:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• You've experienced architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
• You're passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together

Nice to haves:

• You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from 10 to 100s of engineers)
• You have experience with Blockchain technology (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Base etc..)
• You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
• You've worked with Golang, Protobuf, Docker, MongoDB, Postgres, AWS
• You've built financial, high reliability or security systems
• Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with d Apps or blockchain-based services.

Pay Transparency Notice:

The target annual** base** salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility + benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).
