Clever is seeking a national sales director to lead our team selling Clever solutions to school districts in the U.S. Focusing exclusively on customer acquisition and new business growth, this role requires enthusiasm for identifying and solving cybersecurity needs of school districts. You’ll coach and mentor a team of sales professionals on both sales rigor and relationship building. You’ll collaborate closely with customer, operations, and marketing teams to accelerate growth and deliver an outstanding customer experience. This position reports to the global VP of Sales.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Develop and execute sales strategies to drive new business revenue growth, create great customer experiences, and build long lasting district relationships.

Recruit, coach, and manage a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
-
Personally build senior-level relationships with Clever’s existing and prospective school districts and key state education departments.

Accurately manage and forecast sales pipelines.
-
Drive revenue productivity improvement through rigorous sales management practices and market insights.

Coach the team on how to proactively develop territory plans and manage pipeline activities to achieve new business targets.

Lead from the front, modeling how to sell the value of Clever solutions and execute on strategic sales calls.

Partner with Clever’s marketing, product, success, operations, and technical service teams to continuously improve our effectiveness at meeting district needs and driving revenue growth.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
-
Minimum 3 years of experience selling highly technical products to IT/CTO/CIO stakeholders in school districts and states
-
5+ years managing sales professionals
-
Proven track record of leading and coaching teams to meet and exceed new business quotas year over year
-
Proficiency with sales management technology and data analysis, proactively identifying opportunities to improve sales productivity.

Deep understanding of district technology infrastructure (SIS, LMS, HRIS) and integrations needed to successfully implement IDM/IAM and MFA products
-
Ability to articulate a proven and research-based sales methodology outlining best practices with prospecting, discovery, customer best-practices, negotiating, and closing deals

Enthusiasm for identifying and solving cybersecurity needs of school districts.

Willingness to travel in peak sales and conference seasons up to 50% of the time.

A plus: experience as a district IT leader.

SALARY TRANSPARENCY:
The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $170,000 - $198,000. For candidates living in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between**$190,000 - $218,000**. This position also offers a commission target, variable or annual bonus incentive. All final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
