2026–2027 Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (FPRS) Research Student II - Post Baccalaureate

The FPRS Research Student is a one-year, full-time position designed for highly motivated medical students or recent graduates seeking advanced training in clinical research and exposure to facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, including microvascular surgery, facial reanimation, and all other cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. The role provides comprehensive research experience, professional mentorship, and clinical shadowing opportunities, making it ideal for individuals preparing for residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery or related surgical specialties.
This is a 1 year temporary position that will begin July 1, 2026 and will conclude on June 30, 2027. This position is not available for visa sponsorship.
A caregiver in this position works from 8: 00AM - 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Participate in weekly to biweekly research check-ins to review progress and set goals.
-
Collaborate with medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty within the FPRS and microvascular surgery divisions.
-
Commit 40 hours per week to research and/or clinical activities.
-
Coordinate and organize the monthly Reconstructive Conference.
-
Maintain and update the patient-reported outcome measures (PROM) database.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Previous research laboratory experience
-
Accepted or enrolled in an accredited college or university as a medical student, MA/MS student or other graduate program student; excludes PhD students
-
A desire to gain proficiency in all aspects of clinical research
including IRB application, grant writing, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and conference presentations.
- Willingness to author or co-author 5–10 peer-reviewed publications during the fellowship year.
