We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide skilled, empathetic, and individualized direct patient care within our Pediatric Therapy Services team. This role supports patient access to high-quality therapy services and emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and safe, patient-centered care. Pediatric experience is preferred.

A caregiver in this position works

7: 30am – 4:30pm and requires flexibility to float between Main Campus or CCCHR. Holiday and Weekend requirements (on-call is part of weekend/up to 4 to 6 weekend days per 6 months).

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.

• Assess patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills and design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.

• Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities and document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.

• Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

• Direct and supervise the activities of support personnel.

• Act a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association

• Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Experience working with children

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.

• Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.

• Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.

• Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.

• Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.

• Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.

• Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
