As an Estimator, your primary duties will be:

Acting as an organization's strategic and tactical advisor.

Estimating services on multiple construction projects for the duration of the project.
-
Collaborating with Planners, Owners Representatives, and Project Managers to develop realistic estimates during the planning and design phase of project development.

The caregiver in this role will have the opportunity to support the capital project development process with realistic cost estimates. This team supports the reliable execution of projects that provide the physical platform to deliver the best healthcare anywhere. A caregiver in this position works onsite at Main Campus, Monday – Friday from 8:00AM—5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide comprehensive, accurate and competitive estimates to establish project budget including technical takeoffs, cost analysis and communications with subcontractors as required.
-
Develop selection of most economical systems to be utilized in preparation of bids, in conjunction with operations personnel.
-
Collect and analyze data on factors that can affect costs, such as materials, labor, location, duration of the project, and special machinery requirements, including computer hardware.
-
Assist the Design Planner during the concept, schematic, design development phases of a project, including responsibility for completing all estimating tasks on schedule and in accordance with Cleveland Clinic standards.
-
Plan construction sequence and size utilization in conjunction with Owners Representatives / Project Managers and team.
-
Develop and prepare schedules during pre-construction phase indicating estimating milestone events and preparing Project Data Reports at the completion of milestone estimates.
-
Ensure that all estimates, schedules, constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, cost report planning and purchase planning efforts and documents are prepared as scheduled.

Monitors cost progress on assigned projects throughout construction phases and at job close-out.
-
Regularly communicate with other departments involved in construction projects to ensure project milestones are met, momentum is maintained, and issues are addressed proactively.

Oversees and coordinates due diligence initiatives with internal and external partners
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
Bachelor's degree in construction management or related program.
-
Five years of cost estimation experience in a commercial construction group with experience in developing realistic cost estimations on healthcare projects ranging in size from $100K to $100M.
-
Exceptional knowledge of cost estimation software, including commercial applications and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
-
A minimum of 8 years of industry-related experience may offset degree requirements.
-
Requires an aptitude for mathematics and the ability to understand, analyze, compare, and interpret detailed information, and to be able to make sound and accurate judgments.
-
Technical experience must include financial analysis, basic construction knowledge, and strong communication skills.
-
Must have strong written and verbal skills, excellent organization and time management skills, and the ability to lead project teams.
Work Experience:
-
Five years of cost estimation experience in a commercial construction group with experience in developing realistic cost estimations on healthcare projects ranging in size from $100K to $100M.
-
Exceptional knowledge of cost estimation software, including commercial applications and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
-
Minimum of 8 years industry related experience may offset degree requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Requires extensive sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC, and the ability to walk various hospital campuses to attend meetings.

Must have normal or corrected vision, and the ability to verbally communicate to upper level management.

Occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds.
-
Frequent walking, climbing, and traveling to other CC locations is required.
-
Must have reliable transportation.
