The Central Service/Sterile Processing Department (CS/SPD) plays a key role in how our operating rooms care for our patients as a whole team relies on these caregivers to successfully set up the operating room. As a CS/SPD Services Assistant, you will be responsible for testing equipment, running diagnostics, pulling case carts, putting away surgical supplies and providing dispatch services.

A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3: 00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Run daily diagnostic reports and conduct equipment tests.
• Retrieve pull sheets and follow step-by-step instructions when pulling and recording case carts.
• Sock and rotate supplies and equipment.
• Deliver, retrieve and return case carts and other supplies to designated areas.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be comfortable with fast-paced, high-volume environment and lifting up to 50 lbs

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver:

• One year health care experience or similar background in mechanical/manufacturing assembly

Physical Requirements:

• Lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull and navigate supply carts weighing >than 75 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
