Join us at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital where we have been providing world-class care to our community for over 100 years. Here, we strive for patient-centered care and comfort with our collaborative team of healthcare professionals. We are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family.

Histologic Technicians prepare slides of sections of body tissue for microscopic examination by pathologists. These caregivers perform complex procedures for processing body tissue and must make judgments concerning the quality of results. This work is often done while a surgical team awaits a pathologist’s diagnosis. As a Lead Histologic Technician, you will use your histology laboratory experience to resolve and direct other histotechnologist’s work activities to solve day-to-day operational issues in the absence of the supervisor. You will do this through performing and documenting quality assurance activities and recommending quality and workflow process improvement. Participating in the introduction, investigation, and implementation of new procedures, and the evaluation of new instruments and equipment will help to increase efficiency and reduce costs within the department. This role can act as a steppingstone to other opportunities within the lab, such as Immunohistochemistry.
