Partners with administration and multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure patient access and fill rates in accordance with enterprise metrics. Responsible for hiring, onboarding and performance coaching of a team.

Cleveland Clinic’s Dermatology Department is seeking an experienced APRN/PA Manager to join our team.
This leadership role blends advanced clinical practice with strategic management responsibilities. The APRN/PA Manager will deliver exceptional patient care while providing guidance and support to a team of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants.

Minimum of three years of experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.

Proven management and leadership experience, with demonstrated competency in clinical skills and techniques.

Direct dermatology experience required.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the APP practice or department within multiple services lines of the institute, hospital or market of practice.
- Hires and oversees orientation, training and education of APPs. Performs annual performance reviews and monitors performance productivity for assigned areas. Develops and implements competencies, policies and procedures for the department.
- Practices in the role of an APRN or PA providing clinical practice in accordance with privileges granted and as appropriate for certification and licensure.
- Drives SQPE initiatives and oversees policy compliance, standard of care and process improvement initiatives.
- Serves as representative for assigned areas and facilitates in evaluating new technologies and equipment in conjunction with physician staff.
- Communicates updates to leadership and presents reporting as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
APRN
Effective 05/01/2014: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role. Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
If in neonatal care service area Master’s Degree is required upon hire.
PA
Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program. Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree obtained from a program recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.
Languages:
- English, written and spoken.
Certifications:
NP
- Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s).
- Must be licensed as an RN in applicable state(s).
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) may be required based upon work setting.
- Must have arrangements with at least one physician in accordance with requirements set forth by the State Board of Nursing in applicable states.
- Must be credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.
PA
- Certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA or successor organization recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.
- License to practice and prescribe issued by their practicing states Licensing Board.
- Current DEA License or DEA designee as required by NCQA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP); or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) American Heart Association may be required based upon work setting.
- If a candidate has held a license to prescribe within another jurisdiction and needs to obtain a master's degree in order to apply for prescribing privileges the candidate will be subject for review for eligibility for hiring within our system.
- Must have a Physician Supervision Agreement and signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement.
- Must be credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.
Complexity of Work:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated competency and ability to perform advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan development, and invasive procedures as per clinical privileges.
- Ability to interact effectively with all members of the institute, department, hospital and other caregivers at all levels.
- Ability to coach and mentor for developmental and performance outcomes and build a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ability to think critically and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.
- One year of team lead or supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal vision and hearing range (can be corrected) to properly examine, evaluate and communicate with patients.
- Ability to use a computer, phone and other technology to document patient records.
- Physical ability to assist patients as appropriate.
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk throughout the hospital campus and buildings.
