Under the direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor, you will assist the Radiologist in performing a variety of procedures in the Mammography Unit. This role allows you to enhance the exam experience, helping facilitate a calming environment where patients feel at ease throughout the process. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience you can use to propel a successful career in Radiology or explore other departments within the Cleveland Clinic system.

A caregiver in this position works 4 day shifts per week from 8: 00am to 4:30pm and 1 day shift per week from 10:00am to 6:30pm (Mondays normally). It will include 1 Saturday per month from 8:00am to 12pm with a half day off to compensate the week prior.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Adjust and control complex electronic equipment in applying ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic mammography examinations.
  • Prepare and position patients prior to procedures to ensure their safety and obtain desired reports for diagnostic purposes.
  • Calculate and select appropriate equipment and technical factors, such as proper type of film and number of kilovolts or milliamperes.
  • Maintain working conditions of all equipment and report any malfunctions or needs for adjustments to appropriate personnel.
  • Accurately document and notate technical and clinical information.
  • Assist in maintaining sanitary condition of radiology area.
  • Obtain complete patient history.
  • Properly evaluate requisitions, including identifying patient and procedure to be performed.
  • Comply with all Radiology Information System entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply and tracking monitors.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Completion of a Radiologic Technology Program from an approved school
  • Current licensure in the state of Ohio
  • Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with an Advanced Certification in Mammography
