The EMEA CIM Head of Portfolio Solutions & Investment Specialists will be responsible for driving growth of managed investments in the region, with oversight of portfolio implementation teams and the managed investment specialists in region. The role requires strong collaboration with centralized investment teams across Multi-Asset Class Solutions and Discretionary Alternatives, as well as coordination with the Citi Wealth’s CIO team. As the senior representative for managed investments in the region, this leader will be responsible for developing the strategy with senior Sales Leaders in region, executing on strategic priorities, and accountable for key business results: Net New Investment Assets (NNIA), Net Sales, Revenue, AUMs, and Expense.
In addition, the regional lead will be responsible for engagement of asset manager partners and new product ideas. This role will require an individual with broad asset management industry knowledge and experience, strong relationship management, communication and sales skills, demonstrable ability to execute and lead a team.
This role will report to the Head of Citi Investment Management and be a member of the CIM Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Results
- Ownership and Accountability for Managed P&L including delivery and execution of the Financial Plan
- Formulate and institutionalize portfolio and sales actions, lead to drive sales, revenue and profitability
- Develop and drive business strategy and revenue growth for managed business in region covering all wealth client segments
- Shape regional strategic decisions for the business as part of the growth objectives for the entire CIM platform and provide input into global strategy
- Build internal and external relationships to help drive product development, product management and product sales
Clients and Franchise:
- Enhance the product suite in line with our segment strategy to serve mass affluent, high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients by reviewing competitor offerings in order to ensure value added features and ‘best-in-class’ product experience
- Craft forward-looking strategies and plans to grow the managed business and to bring insights and innovative ideas that drive value for clients across all segments
- Oversee development and production of regional investment materials and communications to bankers, counselors and clients (e.g., marketing decks, roadshows, blogs, etc.)
- Coordinate regional implementation of asset class CIO views and firm model portfolio (MACS) for investment products in partnership with the Global Head and relevant manager research teams
- Deliver inputs for all regional senior management data reporting for the managed business; work closely with technology and data teams to deliver clear KPIs for the regional managed business
- Ownership and management of relationships with third party investment managers
- Oversee internal and Third-Party sales and investment update meetings
Risks and Controls:
- Streamline and optimize the new regional new product launch pipeline
- Drive the enhancement of client experience and risk reduction through end-to-end process simplification
- Own relevant Issues and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) relevant to managed investments in the region. Ensure strong culture of raising issues
Leadership
- Coach, guide and develop the regional managed sales, product management teams bringing our leadership principles to life
- Partner closely with different stakeholder groups including other regional Wealth leadership and global Citi Investment Management and Investment Solutions Leaders
- Proactively engage in strategic goals of Citi Investment Management globally and actively drive broader strategic decisions as a member of the Senior Leadership team for Citi Investment Management
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in finance, accounting, mathematics, statistics, or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
- 15+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience of developing and executing business plan/strategy and managing PnL
- Asset management or investment sales experience
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude among fast-changing environment and priorities
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to work productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Strong presentation skills in both small and large settings
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Team/people management (leadership) skills
