The Business Dev Sr Lead Officer is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the initial engagement and ongoing management of all prospects that are not actively engaged with the business.
- Lead all business development efforts to engage prospects in discussions with the business through proactive contacting of prioritized prospects as identified by the business verticals, leveraging internal relationships within Citi and building relationships with industry consultants and advisors.
- Influence the future direction of the organization by selectively targeting future growth opportunities by focusing on developing relationships in advance of contract renewals.
- Work closely with the business verticals and management to monitor the ever changing market landscape to ensure Citi has the opportunity to target and engage with select strategic prospects.
- Responsible for coordinating the targeting and engagement of select strategic prospect opportunities as identified by the business verticals and Senior Management to provide Citi’s leading consumer and commercial credit solutions with market competitive program economics.
- Conduct research of strategic prospects in order to assist the business verticals in prioritizing opportunities.
- Maintain engagement with the business verticals on current status of prioritized prospects.
- Maintain a current database of key prospects and their corresponding status and track meeting and call activity, tracking maturity date information, recording call notes, etc.
- Work with internal Citi resources to identify contacts at prioritized prospects and assist in developing interest and relationships for broader engagement.
- Serve as a catalyst for the organization to actively engage with prioritized prospects.
- Provide senior management with updates on the current status of strategic prospects and industry updates.
- Focus on larger prospects prioritized by the business verticals as high and medium.
- Continued refinement of business vertical targeting strategy based on market findings.
- Host a once-a-month ‘quick market intelligence’ call with business vertical leaders and BD
- Maintain frequent engagement with strategic prospects via phone and in-person meetings.
- Lead / initiate the development of mailers to key prospects and proactively coordinate to share other Citi news/events with valued prospects
- Engage industry consultants on current market landscape and potential upcoming prospect opportunities.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications: - 10+ years relevant experience
- Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or financial management or equivalent.
- Outstanding negotiating proficiency Excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure alignment and buy-in across the organization Continuously challenging the status quo Conducts rigorous analysis and is able to synthesize complex and multiple source
Education: - Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
Experiencia en:
