The Data Quality Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority within the DQ Rules space. Requires basic Wholesale Lending and Operations awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the DQ Rules Process. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and deployment of data quality controls, ensuring adherence to data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage end-to-end data quality control release lifecycle, including defining data control code releases, agreeing on business priorities, and tracking progress.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for data control validation, including functional, automation, and regression testing, to ensure correct deployment and effectiveness.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of data control processes and their output across various data sources to identify gaps and ensure continuous compliance and accuracy.
- Drive initiatives related to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for data control functionalities, working closely with technology project managers, UAT professionals, and business users.
- Monitor the performance and effectiveness of deployed data controls, proactively identifying and resolving complex data quality issues in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in data governance and data quality, applying relevant insights to enhance existing control frameworks.
- Define and enforce data control standards and guidelines that promote data integrity and quality across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with Technology, Business Managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery of data control objectives.
- Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on data control architecture and implementation, contributing to the overall data strategy.
- Partner with senior leadership and a global user community to define and implement robust data control solutions.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- Proven experience (13+ years) in data governance, data quality management, or data control implementation roles, with significant exposure to managing strategic data initiatives and governance forums.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to distill complex business, technical issues into clear, succinct explanations for diverse audiences; capable of interacting professionally with senior stakeholders and mentoring effectively without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and facilitate high-level data governance meetings, manage meeting logistics, minute-taking, action item tracking, and ensure robust stakeholder communication.
- Proven ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in data analysis and control validation.
- Deep analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying, escalating, and proposing effective solutions to complex data quality and control challenges.
- High proficiency in quantitative skills, including advanced Excel and other Microsoft-based programs; Tableau or other visualization tool familiarity preferred
- Experience in wholesale loan products, business processes, and related systems
- SQL and Python experience a plus
- Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred
